Colour us chuffed

So, David, as well as taking pictures of Japan (Kyoto), had the idea to inform the public who don't know about blogs, that there is more information out there than you get from the BBC or The Daily Mail.

He designed, got printed and distributed these cards, advertising some of the blogs he reads which support independence.

We are rather flattered to be included in this list of somewhat illustrious publications (although, to be honest, I don't think that Munguin knows the meaning of the word flattery).

So thank you David for doing this, for doing your bit for the independence movement and for kindly including Munguin's Republic.

    1. Yes. Well done to David. Tris is too busy washing my scarf at the moment, but I'll pass on your congratulations to him.

    1. Well, John, we've kept him for a long time. He had to come in useful at some point.

Yes, it is really good to see comments from new readers. I suspect that some may have found their way here thanks to David's efforts.

Hard to imagine though that it's over 7 years that Munguin's been publishing his thoughts...

  5. Good idea. Only thing that might put new people off, will be the occasional comments that are a bit extreme or insulting.

Of course some of the jokes posted are absolutely hilarious...... :)

    2. Well, I don't believe in censorship, so unless someone uses gratuitously bad language, I don;t take down comments.

But, when it comes to some of the jokes... Sheeesh

    3. That's the principle, Jim.

    4. I meant the comments you see elsewhere!

But the jokes are the result of years of study..........

As for bad language, you should hear mine at present, as I try to replace drywall on a ceiling.........

    5. Aye, we know about the jokes. Years of study. It goes to disprove what we all are lead to believe about education... huh?

      :)

Only jesting... we love your jokes.

Mind you Munguin says that if he hears you cursing your ceiling, he will be forced to take action.

      And you don't want that!

      :)

  7. I gave up on the MSM a while ago, they are as relevant to the situation today as a VHS video recorder. So I find many of these blogs a vital source of information.

The MSM has become like Woolworths, hardly anyone goes there but some people gain a sort of reassurance that it is still there. And once it's gone , few would miss it.

    1. Agreed. Never watch tv news here, rarely read any newspapers, and get most information on line.

I love the Woolworth analogy. Perfect. It was a shop I never went into, but I was somehow weirdly momentarily annoyed that they closed it!! Go figure!

  8. It's well deserved that MR be included in the list. I hope this increases the readership but we keep the ethos and friendly nature of the blog. For new readers, Nikos is a law unto himself, there are thought provoking articles, lovely pictures, cute animals and some of the best guest articles in blogdom - err mibbee not the last one.

    1. Erm, no. That might be taking it a step too far!

But yeah, sure, some cute animals though...no doubt about that.

And about Niko... well, he's been around forever. Like an elderly uncle he can be a bit embarrassing at times, but we love him anyway.

  11. Chicmac. Munguin says thank you for featuring him... it's a really impressive piece of work and we are flattered to be included.

Furthermore we love posts in Scots, so more power to your elbow. I speak it but can't write it, to my shame, otherwise I would have replied in your own tongue.

Yeah Moridura. That was Petter Curren, I think. He has some books on Amazon, if I remember right.

Funnily enough, I was in Kirrie this afternoon. I tok my mum for a run in the Glens, and we ended up in Kirrie after a coffee and cake in Peel Farm Shop café.

    Thanks again for your support.
